MARKETING INTERN
Spotlight Musical Theatre’s marketing internship is an exciting opportunity to learn the basics of theatre marketing while acquiring valuable skills. The Marketing Intern assists in the planning and execution of Spotlight’s marketing plan and assists with activities. The marketing and public relations responsibilities will focus on assisting Spotlight’s Executive Producer and Operations Manager in the execution of tasks necessary for the smooth execution of each marketing plan – from volunteer recruitment to handing out flyers to creating marketing materials for Spotlight’s online and print media. Some clerical and administrative duties will be expected, as well as involvement with special events.
Experience and knowledge of working with children and theatre are especially important. Applicants should be highly motivated individuals looking to explore their field through hands-on experience.

DANCE ASSISTANT INTERN
Spotlight Musical Theatre’s dance assistant intern will primarily assist Saturday and or Sunday afternoon rehearsals (depending on availability) for the current production. Additional hours expected during tech week of production.
You must have dance training. Choreography experience is a plus. You must be open to accepting feedback from Spotlight’s artistic director. In addition to assisting to choreograph and teach, responsibilities include but are not limited to: running warm-ups, supervising students for safety, helping manage rehearsal behavior, helping with music, assisting with costume construction and organization, and being present for all rehearsals and performances.
Experience and knowledge of working with children and theatre are especially important. Applicants should be highly motivated individuals looking to explore their field through hands-on experience.

PRODUCTION INTERN
Spotlight Musical Theatre’s production internship provides you with experience in most areas of technical theatre. Spotlight’s technical theatre interns will assist with constructing set pieces, building props, hanging and focusing lights, assisting with sound, etc. Interns may also help run rehearsals and call shows. Applicants of all skill levels are encouraged to apply; however, the ideal candidate will have a basic foundation in theatre stagecraft.
Rehearsal tasks may include but are not limited to assisting the director, music director, choreographer (as assigned) with rehearsals, maintaining the production book with script adjustments, tech notes, blocking and staging notations, acting as rehearsal stage manager during the majority of the rehearsal process, helping maintain facilities, assuring building is secure at end of rehearsals, and assisting in the build and strike of the show.
Performance and post show tasks will be assigned after your skill level has been assessed during the rehearsal process.

THEATRE EDUCATION/DIRECTING INTERN
Spotlight Musical Theatre’s theatre education/directing internship will focus on assisting Spotlight’s artistic director in the execution of tasks necessary for the smooth running of each aspect of a rehearsal.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to assisting the director, music director, choreographer (as assigned) with rehearsals, help plan and implement end-of-program performances, teach warm ups, blocking, and choreography as assigned and guided by artistic director. Directing Interns participate as important components of the creative process, learning valuable skills from, and making important connections with, their principal directors.
Spotlight’s theatre education/directing intern may also be called upon to provide administrative support to the Executive Producer and Operations Manager. Some clerical and administrative duties will be expected, as well as involvement with special events.
Experience and knowledge of working with children and theatre are especially important. Applicants should be highly motivated individuals looking to explore their field through hands-on experience.

COSTUMING INTERN
Spotlight Musical Theatre’s costume intern will help build costumes for our full-scale theatrical production, assist the costume designer, interact with directors and actors to help the show run smoothly, run wardrobe, construct costumes, and some maintenance and other support. Spotlight’s costuming intern will also assist with fittings and help with costume changes and repairs backstage.
This intern works with the Costume Designer on building, construction, sewing, draping, cleaning and organizing costumes for Spotlight’s productions. Depending on experience level, costume interns may also given an opportunity to expand their portfolio by designing a costume for the show.
Experience and knowledge of working with children and theatre are especially important. Applicants should be highly motivated individuals looking to explore their field through hands-on experience.

STAGE MANAGEMENT INTERN
Spotlight Musical Theatre’s stage management internship provides you with experience in most areas of technical theatre. PMT’s technical theatre interns will assist with constructing set pieces, building props, hanging and focusing lights, assisting with sound, etc. Interns may also help run rehearsals and call shows. Applicants of all skill levels are encouraged to apply; however, the ideal candidate will have a basic foundation in theatre stagecraft.
Rehearsal tasks may include but are not limited to assisting in rehearsals and running shows under the Stage Manager’s supervision, keeping stage management schedule and paper work, working closely with actors and director, and lead and help show run crews.
Experience and knowledge of working with children and theatre are especially important. Applicants should be highly motivated individuals looking to explore their field through hands-on experience.
